What is emulsifier ? The short answer is to ensure that your oil can mix completely with your water. There are my different types of emulsifier, however in this video we use the most easy to find emulsifier.
Cetyl alcohol is also emulsifier and can be quiet draggy or soapy. You can add dimethicone to reduce soapiness or change another emulsifier.
- 76.1% water
- 4% glycerin
- 0.4% xanthan gum
- 4% blend emulsifier (cetearyl alcohol , ceteareth 20)
- 2% cetyl alcohol
- 2% shea butter
- 8% MCT oil
- 0.5% dimethicone (optional, if not using it, please add back 0.5% to your distilled water)
cool down phase
- 1% panthenol
- 0.5% essential oil (optional, if not using it, please add back 0.5% to your distilled water)
- 0.5% tocopherol
- 1% preservatives (please use preservative as recommended by your supplier)
Don’t forget to measure pH of the products.
